Hannah Carding

For me, art is about noticing things, and then trying to get things noticed. 

I live in Frome, Somerset, where I have my studio. Since doing my degree in Visual Studies in 2004 at Norwich School of Art & Design, followed by a Masters in Sequential Illustration in 2007 at Brighton University, I've been making art and teaching art. I am at my happiest when I'm in my studio making pictures or helping others make their pictures.

I like to suggest a sense of narrative in my work, often between wild creatures  in the countryside here, and people characters. The vignettes/stories often convey a sense of the unusual, where humour, pathos and tenderness sometimes mingle.
