Myer Halliday

Ceramic artist with unique abstract mark making

Myer Halliday is a ceramic artist based at Coburg House Studios in Leith in Edinburgh. In 2009, Myer graduated from the pioneering part time ceramics degree from Glasgow School of Art.

As a maker his previous experience had been of making wheel-thrown functional work. Art school provided opportunities for him to get involved in new approaches to ceramics including experimenting with slip-casting, hand building, and making sculpture. Halliday loves abstract mark making and repetitive patterns. Ceramic forms are delicately thrown from a white stoneware clay and are left unglazed, graphic lines are drawn on by hand using underglaze colours. Every piece is unique and embodies simpilicity, funtionality and indiviuality.

He is based at Coburg House Studios in Leith, Edinburgh where he makes works for sale via stockists and exhibitions in the UK and overseas. He also works on commissions for private clients.
