Diane Elson

I was born in Sutton, Surrey and began my career as an artist while still at school, painting commissions and writing and illustrating the first of my books for children. Over twenty books were published the first nine were the Junglies stories followed by other picture books and illustrated anthologies. I worked as an illustrator for the BBC and ITV and recently wrote and illustrated a regular article for Fashion Pioneer a glossy Chinese fashion magazine.

I have had a varied career as an artist with many one woman shows in the UK, USA, Sweden, Holland and Japan. Over the past twenty years my work has become very popular in Japan. My cat paintings have appeared on many products and three cat books have been published about the Whisker cat family. The latest is called Magic of Cat 2.

I am also known for my London paintings including special commissions including favourite places, homes, schools, family and pets etc..

My work is in private collections around the world.

I live by the River Test in Hampshire with my husband Bryan and three cats. My studio is open to visitors but please check someone is home before visiting.
